About the Client
NBC News is a division under American broadcast television station NBC. NBC2 is Southwest Florida's local coverage station that keeps viewers in the know and up to date on the latest news.
The Challenge
To create an animated graphic showing the burrowing owls leaving their homes due to houses being built.
Timeline: 4 hours (same day request)
Challenges That Occurred
The main issue was trying to find a way to efficiently make the burrowing owl look like it was flying away from its nest.
How Was The Design Problem Solved
Looking at the resources available, I searched up the term 'burrowing owl' in our image source library and found images of the owl in various stages of flight. With the prior knowledge of how early animation was achieved with photography, I composited the images in After Effects to achieve the client's look that they wanted.
